Welcoming Life After Law

We are pleased to announce that we are partnering up with Life After Law, who provide holistic, non-financial, pre-retirement advice, mainly to the legal profession.

The central idea behind the concept is that we are now fortunate to be able to look forward to 20 or 30 years of active, productive life after we hang up our boots.

However, that is only possible with the right mindset and preparation.

Life After Law deals with the more acute problems we all face when retiring – loss of purpose, loss of identity, and even loss of self worth.  Many people coming up to retirement significantly underestimate the major consequences these problems can lead to.

Without a properly thought-out plan and the intent to implement there is the potential for trouble.  Lawyers are used to giving best advice to their clients with a view to influencing the outcomes they seek.  The same is true for post-retirement plans and yet many in the legal profession sleepwalk into it with no purpose or plan.  A recipe for disaster.

The guiding force behind Life After Law is Martin Cockx.  His claim to fame is that he founded Injury Lawyers 4U, which became the longest-running and most successful Solicitors’ Consortium – they also had the more dubious distinction of being voted the ‘most annoying advert on TV’  – 3 years running!

Martin retired aged 50 after a successful exit from the business but soon found that retirement caused all of the problems outlined above, and that a more considered and structured approach to retirement was called for.

The Life After Law programme that Martin developed is a bespoke service which combines a comprehensive online offering with individual, personal consultancy.   Whilst the concept is aimed at the legal profession it works equally as well with other occupations.

Martin has enjoyed a much better quality of retirement since implementing his own Life After Law programme and is looking to share his experiences and lessons with a wide range of professionals.  He has many satisfied clients whose retirements have been improved immeasurably with his input.

Martin is now a 3rd Dan Karate instructor and a Qualified Level 3 Personal Trainer (specialising in men over aged 50), having turned his retirement completely round.  His life experience and own personal journey enable him to give solid advice on how to make the most of the exciting years that lie ahead once working life is over.

Martin’s Life After Law website has an excellent video that explains exactly how he operates – I strongly recommend watching it at www.lifeafterlaw.uk

Martin can also be contacted on 07753 244 638 and can be emailed at martin@lifeafterlaw.uk
